Out of the total 80 ultra sound clinics raided since 2011 in the State, 31 clinics were sealed and 21 cases were registered against the owners of the clinics for various illegal practices, including practicing female foeticide, said revealed a meeting of the State Advisory Board on PC and PNDT Act held under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout here on Saturday.
The board members emphasised on following of the Act strictly to control female foeticide in the State which directly affects the male-female ratio. During the 2001 Census, while there were 953 females per 1000 males, in 2011 Census, the number of females dwindled to 941, they said. The members also said that the clinics have to submit form-F regarding its regular ultrasounds and the defaulters would face action. PC and PNDT centre would be opened in all the districts, they added.
