Intellectual masses, social activists and political leaders of the district condemned the district administration’s act for forcibly shifting environmentalist Srikant Nayak in night to the SCB Hospital. Nayak is now on a fast-unto-death stir protesting the pipe water project on the Kharasrota river.
Nayak was staging the agitation for last 17 days on his bed of the District Headquarters Hospital putting the State Government in great embarrassment.
Nayak is opposing the project apprehending a threat to the biodiversity of Bhitarakanika and water crisis in locality.
Meanwhile, the senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra on Thursday visited the pipe water project construction site and met members of the Kharasrota Banchao Sangram Samiti.
