The Sri Sri University here hosted a State-level seminar on ‘Post Harvest Management and Marketing of Vegetables and Fruits of Odisha’ for farmers on Tuesday. The seminar aimed at upgrading the knowledge base of farmers on how to maintain the quality (appearance, texture, flavor and nutritive value) of vegetables and fruits, post-harvest handling practices for marginal and small farmers, reduce losses (both physical and in market value) between harvest and consumption and low-cost storage infrastructure for perishable horticulture produce.

Organised by students of the Agribusiness Management programme under the guidance of faculty member Barada Panigrahy, the event was attended by over 70 farmers. Panigrahy threw lights into how post-harvest produces in the local Mandis can be better stored and marketed.
