like every year, thousands of farmers gathered at the Krushak Mandir at Manijori Hatta ground under the Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on the occasion of the Akshaya Tritiya on Monday.
They worshipped at the temple for the welfare of the country in general and in particular, for surplus rain and good harvest. Besides, they held a silent prayer to condole the deaths of the farmers who committed suicide.
The programme was organsied by the Jay Krushak Club and temple founder Pratap Sahu. Among others, club coordinators Basant Barik, Babaji Rout, Trilochan Sahu, Balaram Dash, Raj Kishore Nayak and members of the Maa Budhi Jagulai Kirtan Mandali participated in a kirtan programme held on the occasion reciting Jay Krushak Mantra.
Over 100 representatives from 40 gram panchayats under Mahanga block attended. later, Samaj Andolan State president Kahnu Charan Beura told how the farmers can avail the benefits meant for them.
