The Niladrivihar Youth and Cultural Association (NYCA) after postponing its 26th annual function for an indefinite period due to Cyclone Fani undertook different activities for restoration and relief distribution in the affected areas.
The association supported the Khordha district administration in restoration of electricity and providing drinking water and other necessities to affected people.
It also tried to stop black-marketing of essential commodities.
NYCA members distributed breads, bananas, curd, water bottles, biscuits and other items to the workers and employees of different organisation like Cesu, NDRF, policemen and fire personnel, who were carrying out restoration works.
NYCA president Dr Prakash Chandra Panigrahi led a team consisting of general secretary Biswajit Patnaik and members Prakash Chandra Sahu, Sisir Kumar Maharana, Govind Biswal, Arjun Dehuri, Batakrushna Panda and media cell secretary Sukant Rout for the relief operation.
