A Family Court was inaugurated in the district court building here by Kandhamal District and Sessions Judge Hiranmaya Bisoi on Monday. Durga Sankar Mishra has been appointed as the judge of the Family Court, which will start functioning from August 19.
Mishra was earlier the Additional Secretary of law Department. To begin with, about 700 cases are to be posted in the Family Court.Additional Judge Rajendra Kumar Tosh, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jyotirmayee Acharya and Vigilance Judge Gouri Sankar Satpathy, among other judicial officers, were present at the function. The District Bar Associations held a welcome meeting following the opening of the Family Court.
