A Family Court was inaugurated in the District Court premises here on Saturday. Orissa High Court’s Justice Satrughan Pujahari inaugurated the court in the presence of the Register of High Court, District Judge Himansu Sekhar Brahma, newly-appointed Family Court Judge Sanjeeb Dubey, Additional District Judge Gourimati Moharana, Registar Siba Prasad Mohapatra, Sub-Judge Suresh Chandra Pradhan, DlSA Secretary Alpana Swain, SDJM Anjali Kumari Padhy, Special JM Bhaskar Biswal, JMFC RK Pradhan and Collector Rashmita Panda, SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra, District Bar Association and N Ahmed among others.
Justice Pujhari said the family court was set up with an objective to tackle a heavy backlog of cases pertaining to the family matters and hear them in a congenial atmosphere, different from the intimidating ones at regular courts.
