It seems troubles for Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda are increasing. In the latest ddevelopment, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate in Kendrapada has on Thursday directed the local police to file a criminal case against Panda on the charge of submitting a false affidavit for the 2014 lok Sabha elections.
The court's ruling came after one Dilip Kumar Das filed a petition alleging that Panda had submitted a false affidavit in his nomination papers for the elections and concealed the fact that he was drawing large monetary benefits as vice-chairman of his family-owned Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys ltd (IMFA).
In reaction to the development, Panda’s secretary Jyoti Ghose said the case is sub-judice and the law would take its own course.
Earlier too, Panda faced a case regarding the same issue. On March 15, one Gopal Charna lenka had filed a case against him in this connection.
