The number of fake degree holder teachers in Bhadrak district has been increasing day by day allegedly with the support of concerned Government officers.
According to an allegation, officers like DPC and DEO are now trying to save the service of Alekha Kumar Panigrahi, who had been appointed illegally and working for more than 13 years at the Ashtama Prahari Sahi UP School.
Information availed through the RTI Act revealed that DPC Sambit Nayak had issued show-cause notice to Panigrahi for verification of his educational and training certificates. However, instead of replying to the notice, he filed a writ petition before the High Court seeking stay on the proceedings. The High Court did not grant a stay and asked Panigrahi to respond the show-cause in 15 days.
Accordingly, Panigrahi submitted a reply to the DPC, which was not satisfactory. Then, the district Collector asked the fake teacher to appear on October 14, 2016 for hearing.
While his reply is dissatisfactory, action should be taken against him. Why he is being to continue in office, wanted to know many.
“The Collector knowingly and deliberately has been extending patronage to the fake teacher despite knowing that Panigrahi’s degree is fake,” alleged some locals.
