District Collector Niranjan Nayak on Wednesday directed District Education Officer Markatkeshari Ray to transfer Maliabuda Project Upper Primary School Headmaster Narayan Chandra Rout to Talachua area for his involvement in MDM irregularities. Rout showed fake enrolment of students in records to get more MDM ration which he misappropriated over the years.
Rout was found guilty recently in an inquiry by a six-member team, led by the local BRCC Subash Chandra Biswal. The District Collector directed DPC of SSA Kailash Chandra Das to also recover the money in respect of the irregularities. Besides, he also directed for a departmental proceeding against the errant headmaster.
It may be noted here that the DPC of SSA by forming a team on August 5 last had conducted a videography of the students in the school and found that the actual strength of the school on the day was short of 12 students. The incident confirmed that the Headmaster of the school had shown fake students to grab MDM ration
