The Sadar police on Wednesday busted a fake edible oil manufacturing unit at Phulnakhara and arrested a person in this connection.
Acting on a tipoff, the police conducted a raid on the unit in the morning and seized around 30,000 litre of adulterated edible oil kept in containers with labels of various reputed brands.
Besides oil, the cops also seized several containers, labels of various brands from the unit.
During the search, police found that the unit used to produce adulterated oil of various branded companies by refining the same with the help of colour, essence, and chemicals.
The police arrested main accused Jagu Sahu and launched a search operation to nab his on-the-run associates. Further investigation in connection with the incident is underway.
