A woman, Yernnagula lalita of Kashinagar in Gajapati district was cheated of Rs54,000 after she revealed her ATM card number to a caller who claimed to be speaking from customer care of Andhra Bank to inquire about her bank account on April 12.
“The caller told me that my ATM card was blocked for some reasons following which it would be deactivated. He asked for my 16-digit ATM card number, pin and account number. I gave it to him and Rs54,000 was looted from my account by using my ATM card,” said lalita.
She lodged an FIR at the Kashinagar police station.
