Chief Inspector-cum-I/c Director, Factories and Boilers, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, Satyanarayana Sethi was arrested by vigilance officials in a bribery case on Tuesday.
He was demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 50,000 from complainant Susanta Kumar Bihari (contractor) of village Baladiabandha, Dhenkanal Sadar, in order to issue factory licence for an ongoing project of Panna Cement Industries Limited, Gopalpur, Cement Terminal Project.
A trap was laid on Monday and Sethi was caught red-handed. His residential house at Bhubaneswar and house at native village Bishnu Diha, PS-Banapur, Khordha were being searched.
