A day after Champua Independent MlA Sanatan Mahakud appeared before the police and denied that complainant Kavita Mahakud is his daughter-in-law, the latter on Wednesday dared him to face her along with his son to establish the “truth”.
“A DNA test of my four-year old daughter should be conducted to prove my relationship with Sanatan Mahakud’s son Pankaj Mahakud. I dare the MlA to come before me along with his son and I will see how they deny the truth that I married Pankaj and have a daughter from Pankaj,” said Kavita.
On Tuesday, the MlA for the first time appeared before the Mahila police here, six months after Kavita, claiming to be his daughter-in-law, levelled allegations of torture against him. She had alleged that she was not allowed to meet or stay with her husband Pankaj as their marriage was not approved by the latter’s family. She had also named Sanatan’s son-in-law Dinabandhu Barik in her complaint.
However, the MlA dismissed the allegations as baseless and said he would move court of law to prove that the charges levelled against him are fabricated.
Kavita claimed that she married Pankaj in 2012 after separating from her first husband Debasis Mahakud.
