With the general elections round the corner, the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government seems to be leaving no stones unturned in its efforts to woo every section of the voters.
The bountiful Government on Wednesday announced a twin bonanza aimed at wooing two different sections of people — assistance for Bhagabata Tungis and a hike in the assistance for daughters’ marriage to the registered construction workers to Rs 20,000. The Government also offered house-building loans subject to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh at a 2 per cent interest to these registered construction workers, official sources said.
