A video clip purportedly shot by an inmate inside a toilet of the Soro Sub-Jail alleging extortion and torture by the Jailor has gone viral in social media.
The inmate identifying himself as Kamalakant Das in the video clip alleged that he was beaten black and blue by Jailor Priyambada Panda after a mobile phone was recovered from a toilet.
He also alleged she beats the other prisoners mercilessly only to extort money from them and does not give them proper food and other facilities.
In the viral video, he was showing his injury marks on the legs and thighs, indicating the degree of torture meted out to him by Jailor Panda. She is demanding Rs 50,000, else threatening me to shift to other jails, alleged Das, further disclosing that he had already paid Rs 30,000 to her.
Das even alleged that the she was responsible for the recent death of an inmate which was shown as suicide.
