The Merchants’ Association of Jaleswar gave a memorandum to the Baleswar district Collector on Monday demanding extension of the Palasa-Bhadrak passenger train to Jaleswar.
The association members said that not only the people of Baleswar district headquarters but also the entire North Odisha would be benefited if the train would be extended to Jaleswar. Besides, poor and lower middle class people of the State can go to Palasa comfortably at an affordable cost.
Similarly, social worker Gopal Sahu has threatened to start an indefinite dharna in front of the Railway Board Chairman’s office in Delhi from March 16. On Sahus’s request, Baleswar MP Rabindra Jena urged the railway authorities to consider the matter.
