During a visit to Jharsuguda on Thursday, Chief Secretary AP Padhi directed the Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) management to gear up construction works of the No 3 and No 4 units.
He also wanted taking of all legal remedies to complete the acquisition process of the land required for the said project.
Padhi held discussion with senior OPGC officer and visited the project site under construction.
He directed the concerned officials to speed up the construction work. later, he joined a review meeting and expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the power project.
However, he was annoyed over the problems arising in acquisition of land for the proposed ash pond. Padhi urged all concerned to complete the project smoothly in a specific timeframe If necessary, legal steps should also be taken, he added.
Jharsuguda Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Patnaik, SP Umasankar Dash, OPGC MD Indranil Dutta, ADM Sitaram Patel and Sub-Collector Ajay Jena were present at the meeting.
