The CBI, probing the mega chit fund scam in the State, on Tuesday filed a fourth chargesheet in connection with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group scam.
This time, the chargesheet was filed against former State Youth Congress president Rajat Choudhury and former AT Group director Md Hanif.
CBI officials after a series of interrogation had arrested Choudhury in July this year for his ‘complicity’ in the tainted chit fund firm.
Choudhary had allegedly held power of attorney for a property belonging to the Pradeep Sethy-headed AT Group and was allegedly a key player in the multi-crore scam. The property was later sold for Rs 94 lakh.
While he is also alleged to have taken money and a vehicle from Sethy, the Youth Congress leader was under the CBI scanner for his suspicious role in the sale of two flats in Bhubaneswar worth over Rs 80 lakh.
A probe team had earlier seized movable and immovable properties of the company including lands, flats and luxury cars worth Rs 200 crore. The police had also frozen over 200 bank accounts of the company in 12 nationalised banks.
