Former Assembly Speaker Sarat Kumar Kar, who had resigned from the Congress recently, joined the BJD at the Naveen Nivas here on Saturday in the presence of BJD president Naveen Patnaik.Kar had resigned from the Congress on March 12 alleging negligent attitude of the party leadership towards senior leaders. Kar, had quit the BJD on April 3, 2004 after being denied the party ticket for the Mahanga Assembly seat.
