Ex-Services league submits memo to Monohar Parrikar

The Indian Ex-Services league, Odisha branch, submitted a memorandum to Defence Minister Monohar Parrikar to protect the interest of all ex-servicemen of Odisha.

The league urged the Minister to address the problems of the ex-military personnel with priority, besides simplification of procedures so that the benefits extended by the Government apply to one and all on a uniform basis.

Citing a Supreme Court verdict on grant of Broad Banding of Disability Pension to all those who are already in receipt of Disability Element, the league lamented that in order to get the benefit every single eligible veteran has to file a case.

It said the concerned veteran has to submit the copy of judgement to service headquarters to get the benefit authorised. Instead it sought the Minister for more simplification of the process to avail the benefit.

The league also attracted the attention of Parrikar for upgrading of ECHS at Bhubaneswar as per population of patients and establishing a canteen store depot for Odisha.
