Joining the ‘quit party spree’, Congress leader and former Rourkela Municipality Chairman and Rourkela Bar Association (RBA) president Ramesh Bal resigned from the party and joined the BJP on Thursday reposing faith in the leadership of BJP Rourkela Assembly seat candidate Dilip Ray.
Besides Bal, many other local Congress leaders too joined the BJP. Similarly, senior BJD leader Bhabani Kabi along with his supporters joined the BJP.
On the other hand, OJM Sundargarh district convener Sukru Bibhar along with his supporter joined the BJD in the presence of Minister Subrat Tarai while about 300 students and youths joined the BJD in the presence of Dilip Tirkey and local party chief Ananad Mohanty on Wednesday.
