A former Puri woman councillor was shot at by four bike-borne miscreants near Gokha Sahi under the Baseli Sahi police limits here on Saturday.
The injured Satyabhama Behera is former Councillor of Gokha Sahi. The miscreants opened eight rounds of fire at her before fleeing from the spot. Satyabhama sustained injuries on her legs. She was rushed to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
Past enmity or any land-related dispute was believed to be the reason behind the incident.
“Our investigation is on. We will nab the culprits soon,” said a police official.
