Former Puri Municipality Chairman Jayant Sarangi joined the BJP at the party head office in Bhubaneswar on Sunday in the presence of party State president Basant Panda, former Minister Bishwabhushan Harichandan and Union Minister Jual Oram.
Sarangi, who was seeking a ticket from the BJD for the Satyabadi
Assembly seat, had resigned from the ruling party three days ago. Now, speculations are that he might be declared as the BJP candidate for the Puri Assembly seat.
