Ex-Paramilitary staffs' dhrana at Jantar-Mantar tomorrow

Retired Paramilitary Forces personnel will hold a ‘protest march to the Parliament’ and dharna at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi on March 15 to press for their demand of getting facilities entitled to ‘Armed Forces of the Union of India’. This would be the second protest to one held in November last year.

The Paramilitary Forces like BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles are declared ‘Armed Forces of the Union of India’ as per the Act and Rules of these Forces enacted in the Parliament but they are being deprived of the above mentioned facilities, alleged the Confederation of Ex-Paramilitary Forces Welfare Associations (COEPMFWA).

They alleged that while they have been trying for an appointment of Prime Minister or Home Minister since the NDA Government came into power, yet concerned offices are yet to consider their request.

The Association has already issued one month notice to the Government in this regard, the release said.

The demands include one rank - one pension, separate service and pension rule instead of CCC Rules, restoration of stopped pension of BSF personnel resigned Under BSF Rule - 19, grant of 50 per cent pension to pre-2006 pensioners, formation of Statutory Paramilitary Welfare Board Instead of WARB, CSD canteen facilities, Paramilitary service pay to serving CPMF personnel similar to MSP (Pensionable), extension of organised service status and NFFU to Group ‘A’ officers of CPMF, exemption from New Contributory Pension System (NPS) for serving personnel appointed From January 1, 2004 similar to Defence personnel.

The association also alleged that the 7th Central Pay Commission has ignored the Paramilitary Forces’ services in its recommendations

General convener for Parliament March PS Nair said noted social worker Dr Gunjan Yadav would inaugurate the march and dharna at 10 am.
