The retired workers of the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) have gone on a relay strike in front of the OMC’s Jajpur Road Regional Office from Monday.
In a Press briefing on Tuesday, the workers informed that the then Chief Minister Biju Patnaik had ordered for implementation of a pension scheme for the OMC workers as well for the workers of the State Electricity Board.
The Electricity Board implemented it without delay where as till date, the scheme has not been implemented for OMC workers. The OMC is a well-known profit-making corporation, but unfortunately the higher authorities have been delaying implementation of the scheme purposely, they alleged and demanded positive steps in this regard at the soonest.
