The Bhawanipatna Vigilance Special Judge Court on Friday sentenced three years rigorous imprisonment to each of Chittaranjan Sunani, former DI of Schools, Nuapada and Arjuna Senapati, the DI office’s Head Clerk while convicting them in a criminal misconduct involving Rs 52,000.
They had fraudulently withdrawn the amount from the GPF account of Ranimunda UP School Teacher Jayaram lal. The court also imposed fine of Rs 2,000 on each of them failing which they would undergo six months more RI.
In another case, the Jeypore Vigilance Specail Court awarded two years rigorous imprisonment to Kedarnath Bisoyi , former PD, NClP, Malkangiri for fraudulently withdrawing excess amount towards salary of project staffs and diverting the money for his own expenses.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him failing which he would undergo RI for six months more. Bisoyi is now working as lecturer in Political Science, Konkorada Science College in Ganjam district.
