Senior BJD leader and former Jajpur MlA Suryamani Jena died at the age of 74 in the District Headquarters Hospital on Wednesday. He had been admitted in the hospital for his ailment on Tuesday.
Jena had been elected from the Jajpur constituency in 1995 as a Janata Dal candidate and in 2000 as a BJD candidate. He was known as a protege of Biju Patnaik. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Former Minister Prafulla Ghadai and several other political leaders. Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das and SP Charan Sing Meena mourned Jena’s death.
