Retired Orissa High Court judge M Papanna passed away in the early morning on Thursday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.
Justice Papanna, who had started his career as a lawyer from Gunupur in Rayagada district, served as a judge of the High Court from September 29, 2000 till his superannuation on March 3, 2004.
He was admitted to the private hospital in Cuttack 15 days back after he fell down in his bathroom resulting in a deep wound on his head.
All courts in Rayagada district have announced to observe a three-day mourning on Justice Papanna’s demise.
