Acting on a disproportionate assets complaint, Vigilance police on Wednesday simultaneously searched houses and office of former Ganjam CDMO and present Surgery Specialist in Koraput CDMO office Dr Niranjan Behera and found movable and immovable assets worth Rs61,67,253 in his name and names of his family members. Dr Behera’ residential house at Ganjam, office at CDMO, Koraput, temporary accommodation in the DNK Guest House, Koraput and parental house at Kosida in Kendrapada district were searched.
The detected movable assess include costly household articles of 2,64,090, motor vehicles worth Rs5,50,000, gold and silver ornaments of Rs1,40,000, bank and insurance premium deposits worth Rs20,82,711, and hard cash of Rs31,650. Value of the detected immovable assets, which include one triple- storied building at Kanan Bihar in Bhubaneswar and four plots in Bhubaneswar and Brahmapur, assessed at Rs30,98,802.
