Former Director General of Police (DGP) Shyam Narayan Tiwari passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday. He was 81 and was battling with cancer. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
DGP Abhay expressed his grief over Tiwari’s demise.
The 1963-batch retired IPS officer had held several positions in the Odisha Police. He had served as the DIG of Central Range, Director Intelligence, Director (Directorate of Prison).
Besides, Tiwari had successfully completed his term as a Joint Secretary of the Intelligence Bureau on Central deputation.
