Ex-Defence staffs demand equal Service Pay

Published on:

The Indian Ex-Services league, Odisha Branch on Saturday sought intervention of Governor Dr SC Jamir into discrimination and dilution of Military Service Pay (MSP) meant for the defence personnel from the rank of Sepoy to Brigadier.

“Military Service Pay (MSP) is an additional benefit granted to defence personnel from the rank of Sepoy to Brigadier after 6th Pay Commission came into force for their unique working environment and different critical situations. But the component of MSP given to the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen is erroneous,” the league mentioned in a letter to Jamir.

It demanded that the Governor take up the matter with concerned authorities and to ensure that there should not be any discrimination in giving MSP to Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen.
