: Ahead of the Padampur Assembly by-poll in Bargarh district, former Bargarh Congress MP Sanjay Bhoi joined the BJP here on Thursday in the presence of BJP State president Samir Mohanty, Bargarh Lok Sabha member Suresh Pujari, Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu, Leader of Opposition Jayanarayan Mishra and BJP leader KV Singh Deo.
Bhoi said he did not get opportunity in the Congress to serve people. Therefore, he decided to join the BJP as he was inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s working style.
He said he has sent his resignation letter to the Congress president via email.
As Bhoi belongs to the Kulta community, his joining the BJP is expected to gain Kulta votes for the party in the Padampur by-poll.
