The 101st birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Binayak Acharya was celebrated at the NGO Hall here under the chairmanship of Dr Sudhanshu Pati on Saturday.
Former MLA Dr RC Chyaupatnaik, former BDA Chairman Subash Maharana, Ganjam Zilla Bikash Manch president Rajendra Panda, Debaraj Sahu, Sisir Padhi, Dr Dibakar Panigrahi and Dr Shiba Prasad Mishra graced as guests. They remembered Acharya as a good teacher, a good human and a noted politician.
It was decided at the meeting that the Government would be urged to install a full-figure statue of Acharya in front of the Khallikote College and name the Aska road after him soon.
Among others, Shyam Sundar Sarangi, Rasa Bihari Dash, Abani Gaya, Balakrushna Palai, Prashant Kumar Mohapatra, Laxmi Narayan Choudhury, Dr Raghuanth Padhi Sharma, Debi Prasad Mohapatra, Rajani Kant Mandal and Ram Prashad Dash paid tributes to Achyarya.
