Former senior Odisha official and social worker Yudhishthir Kanungo passed away at a hospital here on Monday. He was 93 and is survived by a daughter and two sons.
A former Deputy Secretary to the Governor, Kanungo also held important positions in the Odisha State Council for Child Welfare. He played a significant role towards the growth of Anganwadis when the institution was in its infancy. His elder son Dhabal Prasad Kanungo was an educationist and younger son Sidhartha Kanungo is a senior journalist. His son-in-law Dr Ashok Mohanty is a known figure in the healthcare sector. Late Kanungo engaged himself in social service and spiritual activities. His cremation was held here in adherence to Covid protocols.
