Former BSF (Border Security Force) Assistant Commandant Jadumani Patra, who had been taken on a two-day remand by police, has been brought to Barbil in Keonjhar district for further investigation into his association with the People’s liberation Front of India (PlFI).
Sources revealed that Patra, a resident of Upparbahal under the Bonei police station in Sundargarh district, owns a private security agency called "NESS" at Barbil to provide security guards to the industries of Barbil and Koira (Sundargarh).
But it is alleged that in the name of running the security agency he was imparting training to the PlFI cadres, for which he has been arrested along with other 13 PlFI operatives.
After a joint team of the Barbil and Biramitrapur (Sundargarh) police raided Patra’s house situated at Sundarbasti near Barbil town, many mysteries about him such as alleged grabbing of land of an Adivasi family were unfolded. He has built a three-storied house, where he is staying as well as running the office of his security agency.
Further, it came to light that there is already a rape case pending against him, but he is now on bail. After coming out of jail on bail, he allegedly grabbed the land of the tribal family who had stood surety in his bail bond for the rape case. The Adivasi family is now homeless.
