Bucking the general trend of leaders of other parties joining the BJD, former Mayor of Brahmapur Municipal Corporation Siba Shankar Das on Monday resigned from the primary membership of the ruling party and joined the BJP. He said he has sent his resignation to party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by fax.
Das joined the BJP formally in the presence of senior party leaders Manmohan Samal and Ramchandra Panda. Panda is the party candidate for the Brahmapur lok Sabha seat.
