The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Monday quizzed former Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) vice-president Prakash Jena in connection with the fake Gazette notification scam involving suspended Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers Motilal Gouda.
According to Crime Branch sources, it has evidence that an amount of Rs 4 lakh was transferred to Jena’s bank account.
Prakash was BCJD’s vice-president in 2008.
“I have been working with ‘Surakshya lifeline’ as an assistant manager for the last 4-5 years. The Crime Branch had summoned me in connection with a case. They had asked me for some documents. I have handed over those documents to them,” said Jena.
Meanwhile, the Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court here on Monday rejected the bail plea of Gouda, who is the prime accused in the fake Gazette notification scam.
The ADJ rejected Gouda’s bail plea terming his act as anti-State, sources said.
Gouda is currently lodged at the Jharpada Special Jail here.
