Ex-BJD MlA Siddharth Singh quits party

Former BJD MlA of Khandapara in Nayagarh district Siddharth Sekhar Singh on Sunday resigned from the party accusing its leadership of neglecting him in the party.

Singh sent his resignation to party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Singh had been an MlA from 2009 to 2014. However, he was denied a party ticket in the 2014 elections and replaced by Anubhav Patnaik, who won the poll by a slender margin of votes.

“I did not revolt when I was denied party ticket. Neither did I hold parallel meetings in my constituency nor indulged in anti-party activities. Instead, I had campaigned in the Kandhamal lok Sabha by-elections for the party candidate as per the instruction of the party high command. But later, I was not even consulted by party leaders even in my constituency for organisational affairs,” said Singh.
