In yet another incident of the deteriorating law and order situation in the Silk City, armed miscreants looted cash and gold ornaments from a former bank official’s house at Bijay Vihar late on Monday night.
Sources said unidentified miscreants barged into the Kanak Rao’s house located at Bijay Vihar under the Sadar police station at late night and tried to terrorise the family members. When opposed, the robbers attacked the former bank official with a sharp weapon and decamped with 100 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 15,000 in cash.
Rao sustained critical injuries in the attack and was rushed to the MKCG Medical College Hospital here.
On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and began a probe into the incident. PNS
