Ex-B'swar MP gives rations to rickshaw pullers

Published on:

At a time when most of the people have lost their livelihoods due to the coronavirus-related lockdowm, former Baleswar MP RK Jena has come to the support of needy once again.

On Saturday, Jena provided rations  to 450 rickshaw puller families  who have no means to meet  their both ends as social distancing  is strictly enforced. The ration packets contained rice, flour, chuda (flattened rice), gur ( jaggery) and other items.

"At this critical juncture, it may  not be  possible for the Government to reach out  to all  the people in distress.  Hence,  people having resources should come forward  and provide support to the needy," said Jena.

Rickshaw pullers thanked Jena for the help in the time of crisis.

Earlier, Jena had also distributed dry rations to porters at the railway station and to some stranded Bengali hawkers here.
