Several platoons of police were deployed to maintain law and order. The first day of the eviction was peaceful as no untoward incident occurred. The drive will continue for a few days.

It may be noted here that in the first phase in February 2014, the district administration had conducted eviction from Tinimuhani to Santasahi bazaar. On November 10, 2013, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had laid foundation stone for widening and improvement of Tinimuhani-Angulai road with an estimated cost of Rs 7.68 crore.

The worst affected sections were roadside vendors.
