An enforcement squad consisting of BDA, BMC and Commissionerate of Police personnel conducted an eviction drive along the boundary of Kalinga Stadium in view of the upcoming Asian Athletic Championship-2017, FIH World league-2017 and Hockey World Cup-2018.
The eviction drive undertaken at Gate No 9 was delayed by three hours as RAY (Rajeev Awas Yojana) enlisted families resisted. They were excluded from the eviction programme.
Five AC shed houses, two cabins and one bamboo with polythene shed were demolished. The drive would continue on Wednesday at Gate 4 and 5. BDA Enforcement Officer II Pramod Kumar Patro, liaison Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and ACP Sangram Tudu were present. One platoon of gents OSAP force, one section of women force were deployed.
