Evangelical Hosp now has kidney dialysis unit

A kidney dialysis (Hemodialysis) unit was inaugurated by Nuapada CDMO Dr Jagdish Mahanand at the Evangelical Mission Hospital at Khariar on Friday. A fire safety system with one lakh litre of water storage was also inaugurated in this 87-year-old hospital established in 1930 by the American Evangelical Mission.

“Our hospital is first in the district to have a dialysis unit. It will help hundreds of people of this area get dialysis services,” said hospital nursing superintendent Christadash Senapati. “The fire safety system here is also first in the district,” he added.

The hospital has made a lot of improvement in facilities in past few years. A paediatric unit was opened one and ahalf years ago keeping in view the increasing number of admission of child patients, which is about 200 every month. “Treatment cost in this hospital is comparatively less than any other private hospitals,” said a patient. “I hope the hospital authority would keep the price reasonable in kidney dialysis also,” he added.

Hospital director Dr Nivedita along with former director Dr Ajit Singh and other doctors and staffs were present.
