A couple, who had sought mutual divorce from the Family Court here, happily went home on Thursday after reunion following counselling under the supervision of Family Court Judge Girish Kumar Mishra.
The marital life between Abhimanyu Kabi of Rajghat under the Basta police station and Madhusmita Das of Moroda in Mayurbhanj district had begun after solemnisation of their marriage on September 10, 2010.
They were blessed with a daughter in September 2012. But their relationship was strained subsequently over several domestic issues.
Despite efforts by the family members and village gentries, their discord couldn’t be resolved and they filed a joint petition of mutual divorce in the Family Court on March 15 this year. After having preliminary discussions in the conciliation cell, their disputes were resolved. Madhusmita went to her in-laws’ house with her daughter. Advocate Surendranath Mohanty conducted the case.
Notably, the Baleswar Family Court has set a record by disposing of a record number of cases within last two years. As many as about 2,700 cases have been settled in the period of Judge Mishra.
