Escort leniency to under-trial prisoner (UTP) Arthatattwa (AT) Group chief Pradeep Sethy was exposed once again on Tuesdaywhen Sethy was seen speaking over mobile phone at the SCB Medical College Hospital here.
Sethy is admitted in the hospital for over a month now after he apparently made an attempt to commit suicide in the Jharpada jail of Bhubaneswar in the first week of August.
Arrested as the prime accused in the multi-crore chit fund scam since May 2013, Sethy has reportedly been enjoying his custodial life, getting outside food of his choice and keeping in contact with the outside world over telephone. The Commissionerate police are currently investigating into one such allegation in which Sethy had given a telephonic interview to a TV channel.
But on Tuesday, Sethy was again spotted in the hospital talking over telephone with an escort guard walking along. Seeing mediapersons recording his movement, he immediately passed on the mobile phone to the escort guard and rebuked the cameramen for hounding him.
When asked, the local police feigned ignorance over it, saying the hospital security to the UTP is being provided by the jail authorities.
