District Drugs Control staffs along with civil and police officials on Thursday conducted a raid on a quack dispensary at Ambiki village under Ersama block and seized at least 29 items of illegal medicines.
However, quack Arjuni Kumar Rout managed to flee from the dispensary. A case under the Drugs and Cosmetic Act has been registered against Rout, informed District Drug Inspector Dharmdev Puhan.
Reports said a team comprising Puhan, Additional District Medical Officer Pravhat Bastia, Ersama Tahasildar Sarat Chandra Purohit and some police staffs conducted the raid. The medicines seized included physician simples, pregnancy termination kits, counterfeit medicines, sleeping pills and illegal drug substances.
