A four-member team of geologists of the Utkal University headed by department head Durgasanker Pattnaik on the Thursday visited the confluence point of the Mangala river with the sea and the Swargdwar beach where huge coastal erosion took place recently.
After inspecting the sites, they said a thorough study of the development was necessary to arrive at a conclusion over cause of frequent erosion in these spots.
They are likely to submit a report to the State Government. The other three members were BK Rath, Debananda Beuria and Shantiswarop Sahu.
