The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the State Crime Branch on Wednesday submitted two proposals to the State Finance Department for issuance of ad-interim attachment orders under Section 3 of the Odisha Protection of Interests of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2011 against the Gajanan Property Dealer and Construction Pvt ltd and the Ascend Creations Pvt ltd.

The companies (real estate) had allegedly cheated several people by promising them to provide land, EOW sources said. The proposal in respect of the Gajanan Property Dealer and Construction Pvt ltd includes valuable homestead land of 7.44 acres, a market complex and a Kalyan Mandap at Pattamundai for attachment. The proposal in respect of the Ascend Creations Pvt ltd includes valuable homestead land of 9.9 acres, a car and a petrol pump at Rasulpur in Jajpur district for attachment.

Notably, the EOW on April 28 last year had arrested Gajanan Property Dealer MD Niranjan Parida of Kendrapada in a land fraud case. Parida had allegedly misappropriated an amount of RsRs2.84 crore from the HAl Housing Committee, Sunabeda over a land deal. Similarly, the EOW on June 14 last year had also arrested two builder brothers Chandrasekhar Pati (40) and Niranjan Pati (45), owners of the Ascend Creations, for duping more than hundred people of around Rs 2 crore after promising to provide them land and selling plots with false documents.
