Two persons, including a junior engineer (JE) of Enzen at Indupur area here, sustained injuries in a group clash on Tuesday. Nikirai police station IIC Kiran Hembram said while the Enzen staff led by JE Tusar Nayak of Indupur Section had come for collection of electricity dues, some youths led by one Papu Behera, who was an Enzen employee at Chandal but dismissed from the job recently, allegedly started an altercation with the JE.
It snowballed into a violent clash. Papu and his friends damaged an Enzen vehicle and assaulted the JE. In retaliation, the JE and his staff also assaulted Papu and his friends, leaving the latter injured. On Tuesday evening, the injured Papu Behera’s mother, Kamala Behera, lodged an FIR at Nikirai police station against JE Nayak and his staff. On the contrary, JE Nayak also lodged an FIR against Papu and his friends. The police conducted an inquiry.
